3×5' nylon national flag of Grenada.
Grenada is the "Isle of Spice," and its flag says so. Tucked into the green triangle at the hoist is a nutmeg, the crop that made the island famous.
Design
A red border with three yellow stars along the top and three along the bottom. Inside the border, the field is divided diagonally into yellow triangles at the top and bottom and green triangles at the hoist and fly. A red disc with a yellow star sits at the center, and a nutmeg appears in the hoist triangle.
History & Symbolism
The flag was adopted at independence from Britain on 7 February 1974. The seven stars stand for the country's seven parishes, the center star for the capital, St George's. Red stands for courage and vitality, yellow for wisdom and warmth, and green for the land's vegetation and agriculture.
