3×5' nylon national flag of Sierra Leone.
The blue band on Sierra Leone's flag is for Freetown's harbor, one of the largest natural harbors in the world, and the reason the city was founded where it stands.
Design
Three equal horizontal bands of green, white and blue.
History & Symbolism
The flag was adopted at independence from Britain on 27 April 1961. Green stands for agriculture, the mountains and the country's natural resources, white for unity and justice, and blue for the harbor of Freetown and the hope that it would help the nation contribute to peace in the world.
Flag Specifications

Vexillographer's Note
Green always flies on top. With no emblem to orient it, Sierra Leone's flag is one of the easiest to hang upside down by mistake.
